What is a Student Account?
![]()
Your student account is used to manage the billing and payment of student tuition, fees, on-campus housing and certain other campus charges. Every student has a student account. Most financial aid money is directly credited to your student account.
Each time you register, cancel or add courses a charge or credit is posted to your account. This account reflects your total charges for tuition, fees and other University charges. You can view your account transactions by date or by term.
Your student account will NOT include bookstore charges, parking fees or library fines.
When and How to Pay Tuition and Fees
![]()
CashNet electronic billing and payment system is the official means of generating bills to all Western Washington University students.
Tuition bills and current account detail may be accessed through Web4U.
Tuition, fees, and housing charges are due the first day of class.
Students with current account activity will be notified monthly, between the 20th and 25th via their WWU email account that their statement is available for viewing.
To avoid late fees, university charges must be paid in full and on time. It is important for students who add courses after the statement date to check their current balance to determine their full payment requirement.
Students are responsible to pay their outstanding balance whether or not a billing notice is received.

Late Payment and Fees
![]()
A monthly $40 late payment fee is applied for charges not paid by the deadline. Be sure to keep informed of Important dates and deadlines. 1% interest charge will also be assessed monthly on all past due accounts.
The amount due on your account may adjust from registration activity. If you change your schedule, your account balance may reflect those changes. Do NOT wait for an email or electronic statement to check your account status. Please check your account status often, especially after making changes to your schedule!
You are responsible to pay all tuition, housing and fees on time. For a current account balance access Web4U to VIEW AND PAY ACCOUNT your balance.
FAILURE TO PAY CHARGES MAY RESULT IN LATE FEES AND/OR CANCELLATION OF YOUR REGISTRATION
How to Avoid Late Charges

The University can often help a student who has a short-term cash flow problem by issuing an emergency loan to cover a portion of their account balance. For more information, contact Student Financial Resources, Old Main 265, (360)650-3470.
What are Emergency Loans?
WWU offers two types of emergency loans to assist students with short term cash needs: a Signature Loan for a maximum of $250 that is due in 30 days or an Institutional Loan for a maximum of $600 that is due in 90 days. Both loans require your parent's address and two references with complete addresses and phone numbers. References cannot include parents, room mates, spouse or anyone affiliated with Western. You must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for either loan.
Cancellation for Non-Payment
![]()
If you fail to pay your account balance by the deadline, your registration will be cancelled. Since the payment deadline is after the 100% refund period, you will still owe tuition and fees, even if it is your intention to not be enrolled for the quarter.
If you decide not to attend Western after you register for classes, it is important that you contact the Registrar's Office and formally withdraw from the University as soon as possible to avoid incurring unnecessary charges.
If you are cancelled for non-payment and you are still in attendance, you must petition the Registrar to have your classes reinstated.
