Washington State Achievers, Governor’s Scholars & Leadership 1000 Programs

College Success Foundation’s Washington Achievers, Governor’s Scholars and Leadership 1000 programs encourage students from high-potential, low-income backgrounds to become successful through the opportunity of higher education. Through mentoring and academic support, the program creates a diverse group of well-educated leaders at Western.

Achievers, Governor’s and Leadership Scholars find academic support and mentoring from their assigned Academic Support Coordinator (ASC) and College Mentor Counselor. The ASC assists both incoming and currently enrolled students with academic preparation, understanding of university policies and procedures, and social engagement.

College Success
Each Fall, the new cohort of Achievers, Governor’s and Leadership Scholars enroll in a Freshman Interest Group (FIG), and participate in workshops designed to provide an introduction to academic, social, cultural, and financial resources at Western. Within this course, CSF Scholars begin to build community through both academic and co-curricular activities.
Financial Aid Counselor
The Financial Aid Office at Western houses an appointed Counselor to assist CSF Scholars with their financial aid packages.
