Multicultural Achievement Program (MAP) Scholarship
Western Washington University has included in its design for excellence the need to diversify its student body, faculty, and staff. The Multicultural Achievement Program (MAP) Scholarship is an important component of the university’s effort to diversify its student body.
MAP scholarships are up to $3,000 per academic year and will be divided evenly over all quarters of enrollment (but cannot exceed the actual cost of tuition). Recipients may compete for awards in subsequent years by reapplying each year. The MAP Scholarship has been awarded since 1997. Western awards approximately 75 scholarships to academically prepared Western students.
New Students
Scholarships up to $3000 are available to new freshmen and transfer applicants who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to multiculturalism and/or diversity. To be considered for a MAP Scholarship, you must address in your application for admission any past contributions to multiculturalism and/or diversity and how you intend to promote these values at Western.
