This page provides instructions on installing the WWU CA Certificates. Please read through the instructions completely before beginning the process. Screen shots have been provided for illustration purposes only. When you are ready, start with Step 1 below.
Please note that there are a total of 2 certificates to install:
Certificate #1: WWU CA Certificate
This certificate relates to many different Web and Mail services on campus servers.
Step 1: Click here to download the CA certificate. This will begin the installation process on your computer.
Step 2: After clicking on the link in Step 1, you should be presented with a screen like the one below. The following screen shots will walk you through the process.

Click 'View Certificate Authority', and you'll see the following window.

Check both of the checkboxes and click 'Accept'. You will see the following window.
|

|
Whenever a third-party CA certificate is installed, Internet Explorer requires you to enter a password. If you haven't done this before, it will prompt you to create the password. The catch is that it will then ask you for this password whenever you visit a secure site.
You can most easily get around this odd behavior by using an empty password. When prompted for the password, leave the field blank and click 'OK'. It will ask you for the password again to confirm. Simply click 'OK' again, and you will see the following window.

It seems tedious, but now that you've created the SSL password, it asks you for it. Leave the password field blank and Click 'OK'.

Success! Click 'OK' to dismiss the window.

Step 3: Click here to test the installation. If you see the following window, the installation didn't work. Please start back at the top of the page and try again.

If you see this, the CA certificate was not installed. Please try again.
|
Certificate #2: Local Novell CA Certificate
This certificate relates to secure Web services on the campus Novell servers.
Step 4: Click here to download the local Novell CA certificate.
Step 5: Repeat Step 2. The "Issuer:" field will read "WWU Organizational CA". This is expected. You will not have to create a new certificate password, just use the password you created in Step 2.
Step 6: Click here to test the installation. If you see the following window, the installation didn't work. Please start back Step 4 and try again.
