This page provides instructions on installing the WWU CA Certificates. Please read through the instructions completely before beginning the process. Screen shots have been provided for illustration purposes only. When you are ready, start with Step 1 below.
Please note that there are a total of 2 certificates to install:
Certificate #1: WWU CA Certificate
This certificate relates to many different Web and Mail services on campus servers.
Step 1: Click here to download the CA certificate. This will begin the installation process on your computer.
Step 2: After clicking on the link in Step 1, you should be presented with a screen like the one below. The following screen shots will walk you through the process.

Click 'Next', and you'll see the following window.

Click 'Next', and you'll see the following window.

Click 'More Info', and you'll see the following window.
|
|
|
|
Click 'OK' to return to the previous window. Then Click 'Next' and you will see the following window.

This is asking what you would like to authorize the WWU CA to vouch for. We recommend checking all three checkboxes, though only the first is necessary for Web sites; you can decide if you want to check the other two. Place a checkmark in all three check boxes, and click 'Next'. You will see the following window.

If you would like a warning every time you load a page with a certificate that has been signed by the WWU CA, place a checkmark in the check box. Click 'Next'. You will see the following window.

The last step is to name the new certificate! Enter 'WWU Certificate Authority' in the text field and Click 'Finish'.
|
Step 3: Click here to test the installation. If you see the following window, the installation didn't work. Please start back at the top of the page and try again.

If you see this, the CA certificate was not installed. Please try again.
|
Certificate #2: Local Novell CA Certificate
This certificate relates to secure Web services on the campus Novell servers.
Step 4: Click here to download the local Novell CA certificate.
Step 5: Repeat Step 2. The "This Certificate was issued by:" field will read "Organizational CA". This is expected. Also, change the name you give the certificate in the last part of Step 2 to "WWU Novell CA".
Step 6: Click here to test the installation. If you see the following window, the installation didn't work. Please start back Step 4 and try again.
