is the Theatre Arts Department Chair and is a Associate Professor in Costume Design at WWU. He teaches costume design, costume history and specialty classes such as puppetry, millinery, mask making and movement for actors. He holds an M.F.A. in Costume Design and Choreography from Humboldt State University in California. His directing credits include The 1940s Radio Hour, Bye, Bye Birdie, Godspell, Laughter on the 23rd Floor and Red, Hot and Cole. Mr. P. has been the costume designer for the seven consecutive Summer Stock seasons and is both the 1993 winner of the Costume Design Award for his work on the Three Penny Opera and the recipient of the KCACTF Meritorious Achievement Award for his choreography of HSU’s 1999 production of Cabaret. |

holds a PhD from the University of Oregon, Eugene. She currently serves as Director of the Theatre for Youth Program, teaches Theatre History, Dramatic Literature, Children’s Theatre, Secondary Theatre Techniques and Creativity Across the Curriculum. She has extensive experience with children’s theatre, serving as the Artistic Director for the Mad Duckling Children’s Theatre in Eugene and Tour Actor/Director with the Missoula Children’s Theatre International Touring Project. Currently, she directs the Multicultural Outreach Touring Project (MOTley Crew) and serves as a board member for the Allied Arts Education Project, where she has developed theatre residencies for Whatcom Co. schools for the past two years. Dr. Currier also serves as Regional Chair for the KC/ACTF Dramaturgy Competition and Critic's Institute, and was recently awarded the Eugene O'Neill Critic's Institute award nomination from the Kennedy Center. Her past directing credits for WWU include The Suppliant Women, The Illusion, The Taffetas, G.I. Jukebox and Kind Ness, which was invited as a participating production to KC/ACTF in February of 2003. |

holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Educational Drama as of June 2007. She finds theatre and drama to be an absolute necessity for all people in discovering their strengths as individuals. She is ecstatic to be given the opportunity to be director of the Summer Youth Theatre Institute and is eager to aid in the growth of this program; as she was both a primary and secondary teacher for last years first run of the institute. She is currently a member of the Multicultural Outreach Tour, directed by Dr. Deb Currier. As well as working with the Allied Arts Education Project as an assistant teaching artist in residency. Her future goals include drama, education, and graduate course work. |
