"All elements of theatrical production – from script development to the final show – are explored within WWU’s Performing Arts Center. Develop characters and scenes, speak and move effectively on stage, work in an ensemble, search the costume and scene shops, and rehearse for a grand finale performance on the stage of Old Main Theatre. Visit with WWU’s Summer Stock Productions cast and crew for inspiration and support.
We'll spend two weeks (three for Secondary grades) learning to build characters, develop scenes, speak and move effectively on stage and work in an ensemble. We'll do it all-from playing improvisational theatre games to workshop intensives in a variety of areas. Each institute will culminate in an original show produced on stage at WWU with full technical support! All classes will be supervised by WWU Theatre Faculty Dr. Deborah Currier, Drama in Education Program Director. Workshops will be taught by upper division Theatre and/or Education Majors."
