Position Description: Peer Subject Tutor
Reports to: Tutoring Center Coordinator
Salary: Starting wage is $8.85 per hour. This pay rate is within the level II pay range as determined by the Student Employment Center.

Qualifications:

1. Strong GPA in tutoring application area (3.0 or better in subject area)
2. Excellent communication skills
3. Adaptable to high-paced work environment
4. Openess to training and skills development
5. Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups
6. Availability to work 10 to 14 hours per week

Responsibilities:

1. Staff the TC as a content tutor during assigned hours.
2. Develop a full working knowledge of all information required to tutor in specialty.
3. Participate in TC staff meetings and training sessions.
4. Participate in outreach tutorial activities, and provide appropriate referrals to related campus resources.

The TC currently offers tutoring for the following courses:

1. Biology 101, 102, 204 – 206
2. Chemistry 101, 121-123, 251
3. Economics 206, 207
4. Geology 101, 211
5. Math 99 – 118, 156, 157
6. Philosophy 102
7. Physics 101, 114-116, 121-123
