Diversity Achievement Award Guidelines

Each year, the President presents the Diversity Achievement Award which recognizes one faculty, staff, or student (or office) who has significantly contributed in the area of diversity. The award, which is presented at the Fall Convocation, includes a stipend to use for research, teaching, equipment and supplies, or professional enhancement.

Nominees must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  1. Integrates diversity concepts and values into academic curriculum, management and/or operational functions.
  2. Develops methods for increasing and valuing diversity among students, faculty, and/or staff.
  3. Maximizes opportunities to achieve diversity.
  4. Contributes to promoting an understanding and appreciation of differences by contributing to the body of research on diversity or through other endeavors.
