Woodring College Diversity Initiatives
Woodring College of Education’s Two Year Diversity Plan
The Woodring Diversity Committee initiates the college’s Two Year Diversity Plan, which articulates quantifiable objectives in six target areas, establishes a timeline, and assigns responsibility to meet each objective to specific entities within the college. After being drafted by the Diversity Committee, the two year plan is submitted to the college’s Administrative Council for revision and final approval, upon which it becomes official college policy. The targeted goal areas addressed by the objectives are:
- Assisting all Woodring students to develop an understanding of and appreciation for diverse perspectives.
- Ensuring that all graduates of WCE have a comprehensive understanding and experience with diverse perspectives.
- Supporting recruitment/retention activities that enhance diversity within WWU and WCE.
- Encouraging and promoting a wider distribution of knowledge about diversity.
- Cultivating relationships with diverse university and community groups.
- Assuring that the Diversity Committee functions effectively within WCE.
