Academic Honesty
Policy and Procedure
disAbility Resources for students has a zero tolerance policy for academic dishonesty in accordance with the university policy and procedure on Academic Honesty. If a student is suspected of committing academic dishonesty while taking an exam in disAbility Resources for Students, the following procedure will be observed:
DRS Personnel:
- Upon witnessing an incident of suspected academic dishonesty, notifies the closest administrator immediately and report necessary details
DRS Administrator:
- Confronts the student suspected of academic dishonesty and explain concern
- Collects any evidence of academic dishonesty and secure all test materials
Student:
- Leaves DRS testing area without completing exam
- Follows up with instructor
DRS Administrator:
- Interviews witnesses for more information
- Composes a memorandum to the instructor of the class detailing the incident
- Places a copy of memorandum in suspected student’s file
- Calls the instructor and notifies her/him of the incident and informs her/him that all materials will be hand delivered
DRS Personnel:
- Hand delivers the completed memorandum, any evidence, and all test materials packaged together in an envelope to the proper department
