Priority Registration is a service intended to support students with time-sensitive accommodations or other disability/health considerations that impact course scheduling. You must be eligible for priority registration in order to receive the accommodation. To find out about eligibility for Priority Registration and fill out appropriate documentation, please schedule an appointment with a DRS Counselor by calling (360) 650-3083 or visiting Old Main 120.
Priority Registration Frequently Asked Questions
Does Priority Registration override prerequisite, major, override, or other course restrictions?
No, Priority Registration does not override course restrictions. Priority Registration merely moves a student’s registration appointment to the beginning of Phase I.
Does Priority Registration allow me to register if I have holds on my student account?
Any registration hold on your student account will prevent you from registering, even if you have Priority Registration. We recommend you check Web4U several days before Phase I of registration begins so that you may reconcile any holds in a timely manner.
I requested Priority Registration and was approved, but Web4U still shows my old registration time. What happened?
Web4U will show your old registration time up to 24 hours before Phase I begins. If you would like to double-check your registration status, please view your accommodation eligibility through MyDRS or contact your DRS counselor.
I don’t have Priority Registration. Can I still talk to DRS about course selection and advising?
YES! DRS counselors are available for academic advising, regardless of whether or not a student receives Priority Registration. We recommend that ALL students receive academic advising before registration begins.
Is there Priority Registration for Summer Session?
No, we do not offer Priority Registration for Summer Session, but you certainly may visit us for academic advising if you plan to take Summer Session courses.
I am an incoming student for Fall Quarter. When do I register? I am confused.
All incoming students should attend orientation programs. Registration is a component of orientation programs. If you are eligible for Priority Registration, you may request this in advance of your second quarter at Western.
