Innovation Engineering I: A System for Creating New Ideas
Denny Organ is Managing Director/CEO, The Dennis Organ Group. Currently a consultant to small/mid-size companies throughout the NW, Denny previously has worked in senior leadership positions for numerous NW companies, including Starbucks, over a 30+ year career, and has been studying with the Innovation Engineering Leadership Institute since 2011. Denny is currently completing his Innovation Engineering Black Belt certification.
Denny is also an active advisor, passionate volunteer and dedicated advisory board member with the WWU Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management Program.
Dan Purdy teaches Marketing Management, Marketing Principles, Consumer Behavior, Integrated Marketing Communications, Lean Startup and Innovation to MBAs and undergraduates in the Western College of Business and Economics as well as being the Director of Western’s Community Development office; The Front Door to Discovery.
Purdy has more than 20 years of Marketing, Innovation and Entrepreneurship experience including 6 years as Associate Director of the Western MBA Program. Before joining Western, he was a serial entrepreneur and has continued to be innovative by developing and launching numerous new classes at Western including Lean Startup: Entrepreneurial Methods, Real Simple Project Management and Innovation Engineering. Purdy is also the founding Director of the Western Front Door to Discovery, a new office for Community Relations for the University.
Prior to his MBA Purdy worked in the Electrical Power Industry, both in civilian, co-generation power plants, as well as a submarine-based Nuclear Reactor Operator, on ballistic missile submarines, for the United States Navy.
Dan has works as a strategic marketing consultant for Western Washington University Brand Development Team, the Western Washington University Alumni Association, the Mt. Baker Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), North Coast Credit Union, the United Way of Whatcom County, the Spirit of Hope Foundation, the Bellingham Fire Department, the Western Associated Students Bookstoreand numerous startups.
Dan graduated from Western Washington University with both his MBA, and BA in Marketing, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Golden Key and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies.
