Performance Space and Art Galleries
Western hosts several state-of-the art performance venues to accommodate any needs of your large group. In addition to performance spaces, two art galleries – the Western Gallery and Viking Union Gallery – offer impressive and unique displays of art in many different mediums, serving as the perfect backdrop for your reception or conference needs.
The Mainstage Theatre has been hosting performances for the Bellingham community since the early 1950's. It is a fully equipped 1,040 seat proscenium theater with a 40' x 35' performance area and generous wing space; a 40' x 21' arch; full counterweight rigging system; large automated orchestra pit; balcony; loading dock; ample dressing rooms; updated lighting; state-of-the-art sound and projection systems; and handicap access.
PAC Concert Hall
The PAC Concert Hall is a 640-seat classical music recital hall in the amphitheater style. Excellent acoustics, computerized lighting control, Wenger shell and choral risers, and available 9' Steinways make this a highly versatile space in constant demand.
Douglas Underground Theater
The Douglas Underground Theater (DUG) has flexible staging and seating possibilities for up to 104 audience members. It includes a lighting grid at 16' with computerized lighting control, dimming capability, and conventional and modern energy efficient lighting instruments. The space also has access to the Mainstage dressing rooms. The DUG Theatre encourages an atmosphere of intimate exchange between artist and audience. It is a workhorse for student performances and artistic exploration.
Old Main Theatre
The Old Main Theatre is a 200 seat proscenium theater with a 30' x 11' arch, high quality sound and projection system, and versatile lighting capabilities.
