Courses

Intertidal Life

Discover the organisms and habitats that are part of the Salish Sea shores.  We will conduct surveys of rocky intertidal and sandy shorelines, collect plankton with a net, discover what organisms live in these habitats, and just how they find their way home. This class will give you experience with equipment used in studies of marine biology and ecology.

Recommended age:  Ages 7-10

Physical activity level: Moderate to high; many activities will be conducted outside, including walking on the very rocky intertidal zone and mucky mud flats.

Instructor: Shawn Arellano and Mira Lutz
