Color in Nature, Nature of Color
Friday, July 10, 2015

Grandparents will partner with their grandchild in this one-day discovery of nature and color.  What is color?  How do we see color?  Learn the difference between light and pigment, explore matching an dmixing colors, and create a landscape painting either on your own or as a team.

Recommended age:  All ages are appropriate

Douglas Fir Meets Douglas Squirrel

In the spirit of David Douglas – one of the first European naturalists to explore the plants and animals of the wild frontier – we will adventure into the wonders of the lowland forest ecology with an eye for discovery.  This will be a fresh exploration of our magnificent forests and their inhabitants.

Costs

Registration
Registration is $199* for one grandparent and one grandchild per course.  Additional grandparents can register for $139 each and additional grandchildren can be added for $79 each. This includes all class/instructor fees, and the Picnic Lunch on Friday.

*WWU and Olympic College Alumni, Faculty and Staff are eligible for a $20 discount at time of registration.  Discounts cannot be combined.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received in writing or via e-mail to eesp.registration@wwu.edu before June 12, 2015 (for the July 10 “Color in Nature” course) and June 26, 2015 (for the July 24 “Douglas Fir” course) are eligible for a full refund minus a $50.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations made after the designated dates for each program will no longer be eligible for a refund.

Accessibility

Grandparents “U” classes are held in facilities and outdoor areas of the Olympic College property as well as other area locations.  Some activities require walking on very uneven terrain (i.e. walking trails, forest areas, etc.) and between buildings from the parking lot.
