Responsibilities
The University-wide Central Health and Safety Committee is comprised of employee-elected and employer-selected members. The Committee is responsible to:
- Review health and safety inspection reports to assist in correction of identified unsafe conditions or practices.
- Evaluate accident investigations conducted since the previous meeting to determine if the causes of unsafe acts or unsafe conditions involved were properly identified and corrected.
- Evaluate the accident and illness prevention program with a discussion of recommendations for improvement where indicated.
In May 2008, as part of the committee's responisiblities, they reviewed information on relationships between work-related accidental injuries and employee wellness. The committee is providing this information which supports employee wellness.
