Recycling

Recycling is an important means to reducing the amount of material which is disposed of in landfills or by treatment. Both ordinary, solid waste and chemical wastes may be recycled.

The Associated Students Recycle Center handles the following materials:

  • Mixed paper
  • Cardboard
  • Aluminum and Tin cans
  • Plastic bottles (all numbers on bottles)
  • Glass
  • Batteries (from personal use only)

Call them at X3088 if you have questions.

Some of the chemical wastes generated may be recycled by the University's waste disposal firm. These include:

  • Waste oil
  • Fluorescent light ballasts
  • Antifreeze
  • Waste paint

Other chemical wastes may be recycled directly on campus. Please call the Environmental Health and Safety office at x3064 if you would like more information.
