Universal Waste

Universal wastes are those specifically identified by the WA State Department of Ecology in the Washington Administrative Code, Part 173-303.  These include waste and discarded batteries, mercury containing equipment that would not designate as dangerous mercury waste, and lamps that would not designate as dangerous mercury waste.  These wastes must be recycled in order for the items to be handled as universal waste under state regulations.
