Title IX Resources for Summer Program Participants
In accordance with Western’s Title IX obligations and commitment to fostering a safe and harassment-free environment for all students and program participants, the EO Office has created a series of materials regarding individuals’ Title IX rights. The posters, flyers and wallet cards distributed across campus state clearly that people participating in Western’s numerous programs have the right to be free from discrimination, bullying, hazing, and harassment, including sexual violence. These materials also identify campus and community resources that individuals, including summer program participants, can contact with related concerns or to file a discrimination complaint under Title VI, Title IX, or other applicable federal or state civil rights laws. Contact the EO Office if you would like additional posters, flyers or wallet cards for your program, office or residence hall.
Western faculty and staff, including summer program employees, must promptly report alleged or observed harassment, hazing, bullying or discrimination based on any protected characteristic, including sexual assault/rape. Any such allegations should be reported to your supervisor and Western’s Title IX Coordinator, Sue Guenter-Schlesinger, or Deputy Title IX Coordinator, Laura Eckert (650-3307; Old Main 345).
