ACCEPTED:   Comments:  Check BIO474 concurrency.

CSCI330 rationale same as 322.  Insufficient rationale.

Computer Science BS language garbled in the form (634847).

Math is cancelling 207 & 209 and proposing 307 &309.  Programs of study with 207 and 209 must make these changes, including prereqs equivalency.  Will more content be added? Please provide additional information if so.

K. Kitto suggested that Math 307 had more content when it was 207 it was meeting more hours with higher level content.  This is a tools class and an end in itself.

The Chair suggested it would be nice if the system could figure out which courses are prerequisites for which other courses and indicate that and provide this automatically.

There was a question about eliminating freshman level marine biology.  VPUE reported there will be a new marine biology program for freshman that will involve summer work.

ACCEPTED.  Comments:  GEOL303 (GUR).  Lisa Zuzarte agreed to work with departments if questions or clarifications are needed.

Plastics Eng  - vehicle will go moratorium next year.

Please make GPA requirements more explicit for Chem BS.

Discussion:  What advising will students get if they take all the necessary prereqs and still can’t get into the science major because of GPA requirements.  What other options are available to them early on to prevent extra time in the system trying to find a major.  Suggestion that advising and other resources be brought to the table to provide options for these students.

Remaining minutes postponed until next week’s meeting.
