Dan First Scout Rowe is a Nakota Indian, enrolled on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana. Dan served in the Marine Corps from 1966--1972, including a combat tour during the American war in Vietnam. He worked as an electronic surveillance specialist on contracts with the Department of State in the Middle East, Department of Defense in the Aleutian Islands, and with the Department of Treasury on the border with Mexico. He completed a B.A. (History) at Montana State University, and a M.A. (American History) at Purdue University. Dan taught at University of Minnesota for two years and has taught at Fairhaven since 1999.
