Julie Dugger earned her B.A. from Reed College and her Ph.D. in English from the University of Chicago. From 1999-2006 she taught at Benedictine University, where she was an Associate Professor of English and Director of the interdisciplinary Humanities Core. Her teaching and research interests include British and Irish literature, politics and literature, narrative theory, genre theory, the novel, and historiography. Her work has appeared in journals including *Dickens Studies Annual* and *Victorian Studies*.
