Biography

A Pacific Northwest local and Fairhaven/American Cultural Studies Alum, Cecily decided to return to Bellingham after earning her Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law.  She holds both an adjunct appointment at Fairhaven and a staff position as the office manager for the American Cultural Studies Program and the National Association for Ethnic Studies.  She works extensively with WWU's Movimiento Estudiantíl Chicano/a de Aztlán (MEChA) Chapter and other student groups from the Ethnic Student Center (ESC).  In addition to her work at WWU, Cecily stays busy with her husband and two active daughters, various community organizing and outreach projects and her immigration law practice.

Interest Areas

Chicano/a and Latino/a Studies, Cultural/Ethnic Studies, Gender Issues, U.S. Immigration Patterns/History/Policy, Social Justice and the U.S. Legal System.
