Biography
Janai Powell Symons practiced law for 11 years after obtaining her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law. She went back to school to study library science and obtained her Masters of Library and Information Science from University of Washington School in 2001. Since then, she has worked as an a reference librarian and taught classes on research skills, Constitutional law, family law, torts, contracts, as well as American Legal Systems, Gender Discrimination, and Advanced Legal Research and Writing. She is on the boards of several local peace and social justice organizations including the Whatcom Human Rights Task Force.
