Biography
Thea Kleiber joined the staff of Western Washington University Foundation in July 2008. She is responsible for major gift fundraising in support of Fairhaven College and Western Libraries.
Thea has been fundraising in the nonprofit sector since 1995. She most recently served as Development Director for Mount Baker Theatre in Bellingham. Prior to relocating to Whatcom County, Thea was executive director of The American String Project, a Seattle-based chamber orchestra. She has also held key fundraising positions with Seattle Symphony Orchestra and community development organization Cascadia Revolving Fund. Thea earned her CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credential in 2002, and holds an A.A.S. in Environmental Science from Paul Smith's College in New York, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of London in the UK. She served two years as a VISTA volunteer in Juneau, Alaska, and Seattle. Thea grew up in Newburgh, New York.
