Biography

Amazingly, Jackie McClure finds herself as the old-timer on the Fairhaven College staff.  In her 10th year working in support of students at Fairhaven, she was first hired as the college's Admissions Coordinator and now serves as Advising Coordinator. Jackie's worked in academic advising in higher education along the I-5 corridor for more than 20 years, at The Evergreen State College, University of Washington, Seattle Central Community College, University of Puget Sound, as well as Fairhaven College. She holds a BA from WWU's Fairhaven College (1980) and a MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College (1994).

What I do

Jackie's current role at Fairhaven College encompasses helping students navigate the complex web of choices and requirements on the sometimes circuitous roller coaster ride to graduation.  She advises students, connects students to campus resources, facilitates orientation, teaches the FAIR 101a class quarterly and generally offers her two cents about Fairhaven College whenever called upon to do so.  Working with peer mentors keeps her honest; working with her dedicated colleagues keeps her inspired; working with students honors and challenges her daily.
