Fairhaven College is proud to be an active member in of The Consortium for Innovative Environments in Learning (C.I.E.L), a growing network of distinguished, progressive higher education institutions. This Consortium provides opportunities for members to synthesize and disseminate the key aspects of their success and to serve as an incubator for new practices for the improvement of student learning. Through the Consortium, faculty members share ideas, broadening their resources for teaching, curriculum development, assessment, and research. The consortium also provides for faculty exchanges for up to a year among member institutions.
Fairhaven students have the option of studying at some of the CIEL member institutions while paying WWU tuition. Participation in study abroad programs offered through the network is also possible. Fairhaven students interested in these exchange or study abroad opportunities should contact the CIEL/Fairhaven Campus Coordinator, John Bower.
The Consortium also engages in outreach to the higher education community to share best practices in place among the CIEL institutions. We share a common goal: to advance innovations in student learning.
The Consortium also provides a venue for students to present their academic and creative work in the online student journal and at annual symposia.
