American Cultural Studies Scholarship
Deadline November 30th, 5p.m.
This $1,000 one-time nonrenewable scholarship will be awarded Winter Quarter to a Fairhaven student addressing issues of race/ethnicity, social and cultural theory, class, gender, and/or sexual orientation in his or her concentration or American Cultural Studies major—and with a demonstrated interest in community service (through volunteerism, for example). This scholarship considers financial need. The award will be divided into $500 per academic quarter for Winter and Spring.
American Cultural Studies Scholarship Application Requirements:
- Essay: Write a 500-750 word essay in which you explain to the committee your educational background, your academic goals and your eligibility for the scholarship. Describe any relevant personal experiences and achievements that might help evaluate your application.
- Statement of Financial Need: Submit a statement that explains your financial need for the award. You should include such information as income, unusual hardships or expenses, employment, and efforts you have made to finance your education.
- Letter of Recommendation: Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member that addresses your qualification for the scholarship.
Law, Diversity and Justice Scholarship

Two $1,000 one-time nonrenewable scholarships will be awarded Winter Quarter to Fairhaven students committed to social justice within the legal system. One scholarship will be awarded to a student who has filed an LDJ concentration; the other will be awarded to a student with a demonstrated interest in Law, Diversity and Justice. This scholarship considers financial need. Each award will be divided into $500 per academic quarter for Winter and Spring.
