The purpose of the Festival of Scholarship
is to celebrate collaborative inquiry that welcomes the inclusion of student voice
and explores the questions and innovations that arise at all stages of
collaborative inquiry – from developing research questions and project
goals through collaborative authorship!
Come join us as we explore the kinds of scholarship that promote the
virtues and values of engaging multiple partners, perspectives,
techniques, and modes of inquiry in our research projects.
The goal of the Festival is to:
- Feature work that embraces collaboration.
- Go public with results of co-inquiry.
- Explore the process of collaboration.
- Promote engaged dialogue across disciplines and communities.
- Celebrate scholarship in a fun and exciting venue.
Throughout our varied sessions, our goal is to share the results of collaborative scholarship that includes student participation in a variety of disciplines and settings. We also will explore and reflect on some of the challenges and benefits this kind of work presents, including:
- Models for successful collaborative research between and among students, faculty and staff
- Implementation of collaborative research projects within and across disciplines
- Responsible conduct of research from developing questions through conscientious inquiry to distributing results
- Appropriate co-mentoring relationships
- Value of service learning collaborations and collaborative community-based projects
- Funding collaborative research at the undergraduate level
