The Center for Healthy Living was formed in Fall 2002 by Dean Ron Kleinknecht, College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
2002-2003
- Steering Committee formed
- Goals and mission of the Center for Healthy Living established
- Began discussion and planning for CHL sponsored community workshop
- Purchased and installed the CHL server, hosted and supported by College of Humanities and Social Sciences Technical Support Staff
- Grant monies received
- Northwest Physical Activity Coalition: Support for CHL Server ($2500)
2003-2004
- Hosted the first CHL sponsored workshop, "Prevention Across the Lifespan" March 12-13, 2004
- Identified components of the CHL website
- Ongoing discussion of the development of a community CHL Advisory Board

- Hosted a community CHL sponsored workshop, "Worksite Wellness " February 2008
- Organized and promoted a faculty and staff wellness program
- Sponsored and procured funding for a campus talk on wellness by Dr. Steve Aldana
- Supported the development of an Introduction to Public Health course
