Applications & Admission
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university, or the permission of the department. Applicants with less than 25 credits in history or historical studies will be required to demonstrate knowledge of history and an ability to conduct historical research. For further information on admission requirements and procedures, contact the program director. Applicants with an advanced degree from an accredited institution are recommended, but not required, to submit GRE scores.
Admission will be determined on the basis of a critical review of credentials, a personal or telephone interview with the program director, and the approval of the Graduate Program Committee of the Department of History. Applicants must complete the graduate school application forms, and submit three letters of recommendation which should discuss (a) the applicant’s interest in archival or records management work, (b) academic competence, and (c) suitability for extensive contact with the public. Graduate Record Exam scores must submitted. Applicants must also provide evidence of research and writing ability, such as a senior-level research or term paper.

Scholarships & Awards
Students in the Graduate Program in Archives and Records Management are eligible for teaching assistantships and scholarships through the Department of History, including some awards earmarked for students in the program. For information contact the program director.
