Smoking Cessation Programs

Please utilize these programs to help you avoid the smoking surcharges that will be applied to your monthly premiums, unless you take action!

Are you ready to quit? Even if you’ve tried before, there are new medications and approaches that can help you quit for good. Help is available. Start by contacting your health plan to see if they offer a free smoking cessation program.

Need another reason to quit? As of July 2013, the state budget includes a new, additional $25 per month surcharge to medical plan premiums for those who use tobacco products.

Try the Washington State Tobacco Quit Line at 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669) or contact a "quit coach" using the new Click to Call service sponsored by the Washington State Department of Health. These services are confidential and free to Washington residents.
