· Basic GPS principals and applications
· GPS equipment available at WWU
· Field exercise collecting GPS data using Garmin GPSmap60
· Downloading GPS data using ArcGIS
· Discussion of
o GPS accuracy and use in GIS for analysis
o Other GPS receivers & GPS camera
o Data Dictionaries
o Differential Correction
· Web links and sources for additional information

Notes:
This workshop is primarily intended for WWU students, faculty and staff intending to use GPS for class projects or research, specifically those wishing to use Huxley's GPS equipment. Students and community members with a general interest in GPS are welcome to attend as well.
Workshops are offered once each quarter.
No prior GIS or GPS knowledge is required.
Feel free to bring along personal hand held GPS equipment as well.
In case of inclement weather, proper attire is advised.
