Many of the GIS classes at WWU include a cartographic component. In particular EGEO-352 (Computer Cartography) focuses on the visual display of information, as opposed to the spatial analysis. In addition, many of the GIS EGEO-45x courses include higher-end cartographic components.
This page is a small sampling of student works, intended as a showcase and to provide inspiration for future students. For the most part these maps were made entirely with ArcGIS (a very few have been polished with Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop)

EGEO-352: Computer Cartography
The final lab of EGEO-352 consists of a series of two maps. Students are free to chose the location and topic of their maps as well as the cartographic style (or styles). Maps are listed in alphabetical order by cartographer's last name
Plus a few maps from earlier labs in EGEO-352...

These maps come from an exercise making use of composite hillshades (the 'Swiss' hillshade method and 'sun glints,' etc.), using regional elevation and/or bathymetric data. Maps are listed in alphabetical order by cartographer's last name.
