Donna Ball was featured in the Padilla Bay Newsletter, winter 2002-03 issue.  Padilla Bay is a National Estuarine Research Reserve managed by the Washington State Department of Ecology.  Donna is monitoring the sediment level at sites where the non-native Spartina salt marsh grass has been eradicated, as well as sites where it is still growing.  She received a Padilla Bay research fellowship to help fund her study.

Steve Meyer received a small grant ($950) from PADI’s Project Aware, fall 2002.  PADI is the organization that certifies SCUBA divers worldwide.  The money is being used to build and maintain a hyperbaric chamber he will be using to study rockfish.
