Call for Papers and Illustrated Posters
The Western Division of the Canadian Association of Geographers invites you to submit the title and abstract of a presentation or poster on geographic research for presentation at its Annual Meeting to be held at Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA, March 6-8 2008. All fields of geography and related disciplines are welcome.
Paper presentations and posters should embody original scholarship and be as clear and concise as possible. The time limit for each paper presentation is 20 minutes; plan your delivery to include time for questions and answers.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
All presenters, whether offering an oral presentation or participating in a poster session, must submit an abstract of no more than 200 words summarizing the purpose, methods and conclusions of the research. Please be sure to include a list of up to five keywords. Abstracts will not be edited. Authors are responsible for spelling, grammatical and typographical errors. Please be sure to indicate whether the submission is a paper or poster and whether the presenter is a faculty member or undergraduate, masters, or doctoral student. Please email abstracts with all of the above listed details to geoconf@wwu.edu. The file name for the abstract should be as follows your last name – first name – wdcag.doc (smith-john-wdcag.doc).
The deadline for submissions is Feb 27, 2008.

Illustrated Poster Information
Posters can be by individuals or groups. Each presenter should prepare 25 copies of a one sheet abstract of their poster to share at the meeting and be prepared to illustrate their poster with up to a three minute presentation. Poster boards (likely wall-mounted) will be available that can accommodate posters up to 72" (1.22m) wide and 48" (1.8m) high. The organizing committee will provide tacks for attaching posters to the boards.

Audio-Visual Equipment
Indicate any needs for audio-visual equipment with the abstract submission. Overhead and digital projectors attached to computers will be provided as standard equipment.
Presenters using PowerPoint or other computer-based presentation managers should expect to load their files on the computer at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the session. Please have your presentation formatted on a CD or jump drive. Student technicians will be on hand to assist in this process.
