
Please follow these steps to apply for the Intensive English Program:
Applicants must have completed high school and be at least 18 years old. Students must have also had some English instruction before coming to IEP.
Step 1: Complete and Mail the IEP application
- 1.) A competed Intensive English Program application
- 2.) A financial guarantee, quoted in US funds.
- An official bank/financial statement, letter or certificate verifying the financial finds available.
- You must verify that you have $4885 for EACH quarter.
- 3.) An application fee:
- $100
- AEP student: $50
- 4.) A copy of your passport or government issued identification card.
- 5.) Optional fees:
- $50- If you have requested Fed Ex express mail (recommended)
- $200- If IEP will pay your SEVIS fee

- Transfer Students: The "Intent to Transfer Form" will be sent with your acceptance documents. Please take the form to your current school's international student advisor to make the transfer.
- Conditional Admission: You must apply to the WWU undergraduate admissions office for Conditional Admission. IEP does not provide Conditional Admission; it is only through the WWU admissions office.

- Please send your WWU conditional admission application to the IEP office. We will bring it to the WWU admissions office.
- Health Insurance: All international students at Western Washington University are required to have emergency health and accident insurance.
Step 2: SEVIS fee and F-1 Visa Interview
- After receiving your acceptance documents and I-20 form, contact the nearest US Embassy or Consulate to schedule an F-1 visa interview appointment.
- Also, remember to pay the SEVIS fee. Instructions can be found here:
Step 3: Apply for IEP Housing
- You may apply for IEP housing after you have received your F-1 student visa. Please find our housing application here:
If you are a transfer student or will not apply for an F-1 student visa, please apply for housing now.
