Faculty Development
CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) has been providing education abroad programs since 1947. Today CIEE member institutions form a worldwide network of colleges and universities committed to excellence in international education. WWU is a CIEE member institution.
CIEE International Faculty Development Seminars (IFDS) offer faculty the opportunity to increase their international awareness, transform their campus and curricula, and expand their research and publication. The seminars are intensive educational experiences designed to explore fascinations, challenge preconceptions, and open eyes to global issues shaping the world today. Each seminar features lectures, site visits, and discussions with overseas academics and colleagues. WWU faculty qualify for the CIEE member discount.
The CIEE IFDS team is pleased to announce the newest feature of our website: 2009 Seminar Itineraries.
Although we have always included detailed information about the program rationale, lectures, site visits, and seminar leadership on the IFDS website, nothing illustrates the uniqueness and quality of our programs more than the day-to-day details. Each itinerary, although similar in format, is unique to each country and Faculty Leader.
To take a look at the itineraries, please go to: Seminars and click on a seminar. The link to the itinerary can be found on each seminar's webpage. Below is an example of a day on the Turkey IFDS for 2009!
