Australia: Edith Cowan University
Edith Cowan University (ECU) is located on the West Coast of Australia in Perth, and was named after the first woman elected to an Australian parliament. Perth is situated on the Swan River between the Indian Ocean and the Darling Range. It has a Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and mild winters. The population of Perth is over 1.3 million and is known as friendly safe and relaxed, yet offers all the cosmopolitan attractions of a large international city.
Academic Program Description
Edith Cowan University is noted for its vigorous and innovative course content, specialized research and creative pursuits. The university has a student population of almost 23,000 undergraduate students who attend classes on five unique campuses, including 3,000 international students from over 80 different countries. The university upholds a well-deserved reputation for teaching excellence, offering over 290 specialist undergraduate courses in the following areas: Business and Public Management; Communications Health and Science; Community Services, Education and Social Sciences; and the Western Academy of Performing Arts.

Housing
Choices of accommodation include the student housing villages at Mount Lawley and Joondalup campuses which cater up to 313 students, and rental of houses or apartments close to the campuses.
Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum 2.5 GPA with completion at least 30 credits at WWU by time of exchange
- Application approval by the IPE committee
Application Procedure
- Complete Edith Cowan University Application Form and submit along with official academic transcripts, and ECU Enrolment Form
- Complete International Programs & Exchanges Study Abroad/Exchange Application and submit with one academic reference and statement of purpose
- Pay IPE application deposit
- The committee will approve the application before the nomination is forwarded
- Once accepted, Edith Cowan University will send a letter of offer and housing application
- The student must accept the offer in writing and pay the Overseas Student Health Insurance (see estimated costs). Once the acceptance is received, a Confirmation of Enrollment (COE) form will be sent. This form is used to obtain the student visa from the Australian embassy or consulate in the U.S.

- Winter/Spring quarters: June 1st*
