Education Abroad: Applications and Deadlines
Applications
If you are participating in a Western Washington University Study Abroad, Exchange or Internship program, Faculty Led Program or Independent Study Abroad, you must complete the appropriate Western Washington University Student International Programs & Exchanges Application below.
It is important to read the instructions included in the application carefully prior to completing the application. Please print the application double-sided and submit to the IPE office, Milller Hall 208 by the deadline.
Study Abroad, Exchange, International Internship Students
Please note that TWO separate applications are required to participate in a study abroad, exchange or internship program. You must complete the application below and in addition, the specific application for your program, exchange or internship.
If you are applying to a WWU Direct Exchange, you must also download and complete the Direct Exchange Supplemental Application Material below.

Faculty Led Program Students
If you are participating in a WWU Faculty Led Program you must complete the WWU Faculty Led Program Application. This application is to be completed after you have been accepted into the program by following the procedures listed on the Extended Education Travel webpage.
Independent Study Abroad Students
If you are participating in a WWU faculty member approved Independent Study Abroad you must follow the Independent Study Abroad Guidelines and complete the WWU Independent Study Abroad Application.
Extension Request
If you would like to extend your study abroad or exchange program for an additional term, you must complete the IPE Extension Request Form and scan and email to your IPE advisor or directly to ipe@wwu.edu.

Application Deadlines
Below are deadlines for submitting the International Programs & Exchanges application. Two applications are required for a study abroad, exchange or internship program; the IPE application and the program specific application. Students must submit the IPE application to the IPE office by the appropriate deadline below or a late application fee of $50 may be assessed. If the deadline occurs on a weekend, applications will be accepted the following Monday.
Students must submit the program specific application directly to the program. Programs have their own applications and deadlines which may vary from the IPE deadlines.
Exceptions: Students applying to Direct Exchange and ISEP should submit both the IPE and the university or ISEP application to IPE.
