    • Located in Musashino City, a suburb of Tokyo
    • Has a history of friendship and cooperation with Western Washington University that has existed since the late 1970s
    • Offers an Intensive Japanese Course designed to prepare international students for enrollment at the university. In addition to the Japanese language courses, the curriculum includes courses in Japanese history and culture that are taught in English.
  • Academics

    • The undergraduate academic calendar starts in early April as is customary in Japan. Students with any level of Japanese may attend Spring semester. Academic year and Fall semester exchanges are intended for high level Japanese speakers only.
      • Fall semester: Early September to Late January
      • Spring semester:  Early April to Late July
    • There are three levels of intensive Japanese classes:
      • Class A
        for students who graduated from university or junior college whose Japanese proficiency is higher than Level N2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. The goal is to enable students to enter graduate school or to transfer to the 3rd year student in the undergraduate program.
      • Class B
        is for students whose Japanese proficiency is equivalent to Level N3 of Japanese Language Proficiency Test. The goal is to enable students to study in a regular course at a Japanese university or junior college.
      • Class C
        is for students whose Japanese proficiency is equivalent to Level N4 of Japanese Language Proficiency Test. The goal is to enable students to study in a regular course at a Japanese university or junior college.
  • Accommodations

    • Asia University will assist students in finding off-campus housing. On-campus housing is limited.
