Academics

The academic year is divided into winter and summer terms, with each term lasting six months.
- Time after lectures end and before the examination period starts is to be used for independent studies.
- Winter: Beginning of October – End of March
- Summer: Beginning of April – End of Sept.

This exchange is limited to the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Goettingen, which includes the following departments: Social Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, and Sport Science.

The University of Goettingen may be willing to accept students to other departments on a case-by-case basis. Although some courses are taught in English, course options are limited. Applicants will need to pass a German Language proficiency exam.

Accommodations
- On-Campus and Off-Campus housing options are available.
- For on-campus housing, students can get a relatively cheap room (between 180 and 240 Euro per month) at one of the various halls of residence. These are simple, furnished rooms; where students share the bathroom and the kitchen facilities.
