Academics
The academic year is divided into 2 semesters; each winter and summer semester is comprised of 15 teaching weeks. All subjects at the University of Graz run over one semester.
Winter Semester (Fall qtr @ WWU): Early October to End of January (Intensive German Course starts early September)
Karl-Franzens Universität has six faculties (Social and Economic Sciences, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Medicine, Law, and Catholic Theology) and one of the largest teaching hospitals in the world.
Summer Semester (Winter/Spring @ WWU): Early March to Late June (Intensive German Courses start early February)
The language of instruction is primarily in German, although some departments offer courses taught in English. -
Accommodations
Students are encouraged to live in Dormitories located about 15-20 minutes away by public transportation or bicycle. Off-campus housing is also available.
