Academic Advisors
Academic Advisors are extremely important in student's international study abroad, exchange or internship experience. Academic Advisors provide information and support to students from the initial international program search, application, course selection and evaluation of courses and credits. The International Programs & Exchanges office recognizes and values the Academic Advisors role in the student's international experience. IPE appreciates the involvement and dedication that Academic Advisors have with students regarding their international endeavors. The documents below are designed to help explain and guide both the advisor and the student with academic requirements.
Academic Responsibilities (doc)
Students who participate in an international educational experience through IPE sign a Memorandum of Understanding which states that they agree to the Conditions of Enrollment. The Conditions of Enrollment include the Academic Responsibilities which are listed on this document.
Academic Advising Form (doc)
This form is part of the IPE study abroad/exchange application. Students who plan to obtain credit in their major or minor from courses that take on an international program should complete this form with their departmental academic advisor. Students who plan to petition any courses for a specific major, minor or GUR requirement should be sure to bring a copy of the course descriptions, syllabus and/or the host college catalog showing credits, number of hours spent in class, tests and assignments when discussing this with the academic advisor or credit evaluator. Students who are only planning to receive elective credit for their studies abroad can indicate that on the form and sign the form themselves, no advisor signature required.
