Mike Kane is an award-winning Seattle-based freelance photographer specializing in regional documentary and editorial photography.
He is currently pursuing partnerships with non-profit organizations and working to gain exposure as a national freelancer. Regular clients include The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, Seattle University and the Marguerite Casey Foundation. Mike's work has also appeared in The New York Times, USA Today, The Washingotn Post, The Boston Globe, Mother Jones Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, and many others.
Until its closure in 2009 Mike was a staff photographer at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and before that a Hearst Fellow at the San Francisco Chronicle, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and the San Antonio Express-News.
He is proud to have been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in 2009 and to be named finalist for the 2009 Taylor Award at Harvard and the 2010 Dorothea Lange-Paul Talyor Prize at the Center for Documentary Studies.
