Linguistics Major and Minor
Major - Linguistics (Bachelor of Arts)
55 credits
Requirements:
- One college year of a non-IE language (Chinese, Japanese or Korean) or a second year of other language (12-15 credits)
- LING 201 or ENG 370 or ANTH 348 or TESL 401 - Introduction to Linguistics (4-5 credits)
- LING 204 or ENG 270 - Sociolinguistics (4-5 credits)
- LING 301 - Phonology (4 credits)
- LING 302 - Morphology (4 credits)
- LING 303 - Syntax (4 credits)
- LING 314 - Phonetics (4 credits)
- LING 402 - Topics in Linguistics (must be taken twice) (3-5 credits)
- Additional credit concentration with at least one additional 400-level course in related department under advisement (see concentrations)
