Major and Minor Information
Forms to help students keep track of credits, major requirements, and minor requirements are available on Forms & Plans of Study.
In order to declare a major in a language offered by the Modern & Classical Languages Department students must fill out a "Degree Declaration Card" (available in Old Main 230 or Miller Hall 223). This form must be signed by the student and the Department Chair. This card must then be submitted to Old Main 230.
Note: Students who desire to pursue a Major in Spanish must complete the Spanish Major Application and submit it to the Modern & Classical Languages Office in Miller Hall 223. These students must also submit a Degree Declaration Card to Old Main 230.
We suggest and encourage students to speak with the respective advisor for their major. A list of advisors is available on the Advisors page of this website.
After speaking with an advisor, and completing the required courses, students must fill out and submit a Major Evaluation to the Modern & Classical Languages office in Miller Hall 223 for evaluation of major completion.
A "Minor Declaration Card" is available from the Registrar's Office or in Miller Hall 223. This card is to be filled out by student and his/her language advisor, then signed by the chair. A list of advisors is available on the Advisors page of this website.
