Biography
Greetings! This is Josh. Thank you for visiting my website. It has been created to introduce you to my research at WWU. I have also provided information about my own personal interests. I hope you gain a better understanding of what our experimental goals are and perhaps you too can develop an interest in such studies. For now I would like to share some of my personal interests and hobbies. I am from the colorful state of Colorado. My home institution is Colordo State University where I study and teach biology and chemistry. I have a passion for subjects related to science and the investigation of the natural world. I am currently studying marine science with a specific emphasis on a species of green alga that releases dopamine. I have worked in industry as an analytical chemist in the fields of industrial catalyst technology, food and nutraceutical testing and bio-fuels. I hope to use my education and experience to pursue a career in marine science. My hobbies include rock climbing, SCUBA diving, mountain biking, horsemanship and skiing of course. I enjoy gourmet cooking, WWII vintage aircraft (but really anything related to aviation), spy novels such as Mack Bolan and Robert Ludlum, but the most special and important things in the whole world for me are my three little boys Laszlo, Levi and Andrew-Ryan. I could give you an earful about my treasures but will save that for another time. Please continue to visit my site for periodic updates on my research as I continue this summer under the direction of Kathy Van Alstyne.
