Concert Choir
The WWU Concert Choir is a select ensemble of 45-50 accomplished university singers. While most are undergraduate music majors and minors in vocal performance or music education, a number of other campus majors are represented as well, including history, linguistics, French, business, and geology. Performing challenging choral literature of all periods and styles, the choir specializes in the music of contemporary American composers. The ensemble sings frequently throughout the Puget Sound region and combines annually with the Whatcom Symphony to present major choral-orchestral works. European tours have taken them to France, Italy, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria and in June 2009, the choir took its first South American tour, performing in Argentina and Uruguay. The Concert Choir has performed at Washington Music Educators Association conferences, at divisional American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conventions, and at the 2005 National ACDA Convention in Los Angeles.
